Vermont Overland Grand Prix

If you are a cycling enthusiast in the Upper Valley, it's likely that decorated competitor and cycling coach Peter Vollers needs no introduction. If you want to know more about cycling opportunities in our area, you should get to know him. And if you are looking for a new challenge, now is a great time.

Vollers, the founding owner of Vermont Overland has added an exciting event to the company's adventure travel offerings. Debuting this summer is the ultimate overland bike race: The Vermont Overland Grand Prix, a 53-mile dirt road, bicycle race featuring 6800 feet of climbing and seven sections of what Vollers drolly refers to as “Vermont pavĂ©” (unmaintained ancient public roads.) The race will start and finish in the beautiful village of Woodstock, Vermont.

A past US Jr Worlds team member and Collegiate National Champion (also the founder of the cycling team at Killington Mountain School,) Vollers saw his lifelong passion for cycling as a natural extension of Vermont Overland's successful off-road touring trips. (The company's flagship overlanding event, the Vermont Overland Trophy sold out in the first day of its initial offering.)

Open to all cyclists, the Vermont Overland Grand Prix is guaranteed to be a fun event and the perfect way to explore Vermont's idyllic countryside. A post-race party in Woodstock will welcome riders back to town. For all the details and information on how to register, visit the website by clicking here.
